A permanent member of the Lionel Hampton Big Band since 1997, bassist Christian Fabian releases a fabulous new CD “Across The Tracks” on CAP Records January 31st, 2006.

January 31st, 2006 – Christian Fabian, long time bassist for the Lionel Hampton band, announces the release of his new CD featuring an All Star line up of Andy LaVerne on piano and Danny Gottlieb on Drums with special guest appearances by trumpeter Claudio Roditi , guitarist Corey Christiansen and Mike Longo on percussion, presenting an exciting mix of originals and standards in a variety of
Contemporary settings.

“I was just amazed at the level of music this group of great artists were able to come up with,”says Fabian, who has been playing jazz professionally for over thirteen years. “The air was filled with energy that night and the results were pure magic.”

Christian Fabian, born in Sweden and raised in Germany, studied at the Maastricht Conservatory with the principal bass player from the Concertgebouw Symphony Orchestra. He has performed throughout Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Hungary. After receiving a scholarship to Boston's Berklee College of Music, he settled in the USA and graduated with a degree in performance and Film scoring Magna Cum Laude in the year 2000. He has since become one of the most sought after bassists on the US jazz scene while receiving numerous awards. He also studied with Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Billy Taylor, Mike Longo and other Jazz Greats. Aside from becoming an Artist in Residence at the University of Massachusetts Mr.. Fabian has performed with such jazz notables as The Mike Longo Big Band , Jimmy Owens, Gary Burton, John La Porta, Elvin Jones, Cheryl Bentyne , Ed Thigpen, Makoto Ozone, Chaka Khan,,Bob Mintzer, Charlie Mariano, Rick Margitza, Jon Hendricks and recently also joined the Gianni Russo Big Band in NYC.
