Album Notes
"Places" is the third album featuring a full band for vibraphonist, Christian Tamburr. With a passion for the music of the Great American Song Book, Christian and his quartet have captured an exciting new sound for some of the great old standards. The album also features some more unlikely selections by artists such as the Beatles, and Latin Vocal Artist, Julio Iglesias. Rooted deep in the straight ahead sound of modern jazz, The Christian Tamburr Quartet keeps "swing" as a major focus in the feel and overall approach to the arrangements and the recording.

"Its important to keep one foot in the future when composing and arranging for a new album, but I also love to swing and keep alive the heart and soul of where this music came from", says Christian.

The recording features Eric Reed on piano, John Shifflett on bass, and Greg Wyser-Pratte on drums.
