Album Notes
The scene: A jazz club in Pittsburgh, PA. Late night, after the regular acts have performed and the only crowd remaining are the band, the owners, the chef, and the employees.

The event: The birth of a dream. A cocktail waitress/college student with a passion for music and a life long history of performance feels the yearning desire to try something new. She steps onto the stage, and plays her heart, letting her grief, joy, desire, and laughter invade the club through the baby grand. She tries an experiment, based on her mood, and plays only the black keys, the ebonies...

The result: The room quiets, and people listen. They like it. They find peace in the music, and passion. Then, week after week, new ideas come to mind, and more audiences capture these formerly secretive performances. Production Managers, other musicians, and the occaisional customer or friend...

The offer: A business card, and an idea. 'Why not make a recording?' she's asked. She hadn't really thought of it before, but seeing the business card in hand, the thoughts begin to overwhelm. She studies. Learns a bit more. Plays daily for hours with every chance...sneaks into music classes hours early for a chance to play in solitude. Music is a refuge, a place to heal from the daily grievances. Can she share that serenity? Is it possible?

The recording: Finally ready to be seen, her soul erupts into music, the desire for serenity leaps into reality and plays its way into the hearts of family, friends, acquaintances and strangers.

The message: Take a moment to relax, let your mind be at peace. Follow Your Own Path, but end up in a musical realm of placid reflection...
