ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Singer-songwriter Chuck Foster plays reggae with a Southern California slant backed by a stellar lineup of musicians including Mike Irwin on bass, Tony Bird on keys and Rex Bailey and Alberto Fernandez on guitars. It's Time is Chuck's sixth solo release (he has also put out four dub albums and two various artists sets) and contains a set of 15 original songs encompassing a wide variety of styles rooted in classic Jamaican reggae. Chuck is the host of Reggae Central on KPFK in LA, co-hosted KCRW's seminal Reggae Beat show and wrote the Reggae Update column for Beat Magazine for two decades. He is the author of Roots Rock Reggae: An Oral History of Reggae Music From Ska To Dancehall published by Billboard Books and The Small Axe Guide To Rocksteady published by Small Axe in London and currently writes a column for the Reggae Festival Guide. It's Time is his first album of all-original material in two years and features a stripped-down five piece band backing heavy on drum & bass.
