Hotter Fire Dub

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This is the fifth dub release from producer Chuck Foster who hosts Reggae Central on KPFK in LA and has written extensively about the music as Reggae Update columnist for Beat Magazine and in his books Roots Rock Reggae (Billboard) and Small Axe Guide To Rocksteady (I Am the Gorgon). Recorded at Southern California's Rough Sounds studio with Mike Irwin on bass, Alberto Fernandez and Rex Bailey on guitars, Horseman on drums and Tony Bird on keys this disc offers dub versions of the songs on the 2019 release It's Time also available on Catch Me Time Records. Dub music is the essence of reggae--it's reggae stripped down to what is most reggae about reggae, the drum and bass foundation with all other instrumentation caught in a swirly haze of floating effects and churning fragments crashing like meteors from outer space into the inner regions of your mind.
