ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The new album has ten strong tracks supported by a tight mix of talented musician friends of Chuck’s. The first track, Star Dance, has some outstanding electric slide guitar done by David Salonen of the Seattle-based band General Mojo. Oceans of Energy incorporates a spirit-lifting lead saxophone by Dianne Krause, who has performed with Kenny G. Grateful Heart features a strong fiddle lead by multi-talented Randy Bruce. Randy also leads with a lively up-tempo fiddle on Live On.
IF includes sensitive work by Dan Tyack on pedal steel and tasteful mandolin by Paul Colwell who is well known throughout the world for his work with Up with People. Mighty High is led by the entrancing clarinet of Mark Graham, a nationally known performer and songwriter. Language of the Heart features Chuck playing two guitars, one in standard tuning and one in high-strung tuning to provide a light, gentle fingerpicking base. Strong percussion on the song Now, performed by Todd Zimberg, the former drummer for Big Brother and the Holding Company, helps set the tempo of the song. The opening guitar groove of When We Rise is well done by the multi-instrumentalist Steve Amsden, coupled with a Jerry Lee Lewis style piano by Loren Sinner that makes us want to groove with the song. A Way Out of No Way features timely lyrics and a talented fingerstyle guitar by Chris Anderson. Fletcher Andrews provides the intriguing grooves of hand percussion and drums on many of the songs. Kat Eggleston (award-winning singer-songwriter) and Susan Lewis of Rebel Voices provide sensitive vocal harmonies on the songs that incorporate harmony.

A portion of the sale of the album goes to the Onward and Upward Foundation, founded to help promote and further attitudes and practices of awakening awareness that spurs us to move closer to our higher selves and the love that permeates the universe.
