ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This is the fifth CD of music for Gary Roodman's Calculated Figures dances. It draws on the talents of three outstanding musicians, Mary Lea, Peter Barnes, and Karen Axelrod, playing here as Cilantrio. Mary plays the violin and viola, Peter the flute, whistle, guitar, and piano, and Karen the piano and accordion. The three of them create a whole spectrum of moods and attitudes, from beautiful and flowing to jazzy and swingy. The trio is joined on several cuts by guest musicians Aldo Fabrizi playing mandolin and octave mandolin, Jessica Murrow on oboe, and Anna Patton playing clarinet. There are 16 dances in all, including "The Invitation","Mevagissey Car Park", "A Mover and Shaker", and "Ani's Waltz".
