Album Notes
Coram Deo - is a beautiful Latin term that piqued my interest one day a few years ago as I was reading. It was a phrase that the author briefly used but did not fully explain. I wanted to know the deeper meaning of this concept so I put the book down and began to search for more information. I found my way to an article by RC Sproul (Ligonier Ministries) who explains it as follows ~ and I quote ~

"This phrase literally refers to something that takes place in the presence of, or before the face of, God. To live Coram Deo is to live one’s entire life in the presence of God, under the authority of God, to the glory of God. To live in the presence of God is to understand that whatever we are doing and wherever we are doing it, we are acting under the gaze of God. God is omnipresent. There is no place so remote that we can escape His penetrating gaze." (RC Sproul)

I want that. I want to live every moment that He gives me facedown before Him. I want to live fully aware that it is "in Him I live and move and have my being". I want to always be mindful that He is God and I am not; He is Creator and I am the created. He alone is sovereign over every detail, large and small, in my life. I want to carry within my heart the confidence that He is faithful, trustworthy, loving and always good. And that He will never fail me.

So after discovering this phrase in 2010, I knew that my next project would be released under this title. It had to be! And, I am so blessed to share Coram Deo ... before the face of God with you today as a declaration of my worship, my surrender, my joy, and my complete confidence in the Most High God who calls us to live a life of full-on faith.

Coram Deo contains nine original songs ~ four of which came right from the pages of my journal ~ these are the prayers and praises lifted over the past couple of years in my quiet time with the Father of all! I could not have known He would desire to take them from the obscure, hidden place of the pages of my journal and ask me to put them on this CD. That was not the initial intent when they flowed from my pen. The other five original songs were written by friends. I am so blessed and honored that they would allow me to 'dress them up' and present them here on this project for such a time as this.

Now, may all of these songs go forth into all the earth to bring God glory while edifying the hearts of believers everywhere. May His name, alone, be made famous and known in the uttermost places of the world! And, as it does, may God be abundantly pleased as each lyric and note rises to His throne as a fragrant offering!

Lord, I am all Yours and this project is all for You! There here is no higher calling in all of life than to be poured out fully for Your service and for Your great pleasure! May I live each moment facedown ~ Coram Deo ... before the face of God!
