Constant Is Change

by Cindy Larson

I would say my CD is eclectic country with songs that are old-timey, country rock, a bit of a gospel feel on a couple and one is a bit bluesy making it entertaining for many musical tastes.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes

I am from the Detroit, Michigan area but moved to the Traverse City, Michigan area in 1992. I have always loved to sing from when I was little standing next to my grandma in church or sitting next to her at her piano on family visits to present. My mom's side of the family was from Tennessee and my dad's from Kentucky. I LOVED our summer vacations when we would visit those areas. My grandma actually dated Archie Campbell!!
My first singing performance was when our youth group at church put on a performance of Jesus Christ Superstar. Then I started singing Karaoke in 2011 and in 2013 I was invited to record in Nashville. In the last several years my singing experiences have included vocal lessons, church choir, the Praise Band, a couple of solo songs, several performances for my quilt guilds retreats and I have occasionally sung to my tracks at open mic. 2015 was a busy year as I had been Nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year on Nashville Universe which was a win itself just to be listed in that group of talented ladies. I was also blessed to have met a great group of guys, the band JUDE. They really loved my style and wanted me to co write with them and we now have 8 co writes that have inspired me to start writing my own songs. In 2016 I was blessed to meet another couple of wonderful writers which lead to more co writes and then I wrote a couple of my own. This in turn lead to the start of my debut CD in 2017. Since then I have learned exactly what it takes to go from start to finish on completing a CD and I now have SO much respect for CDs and downloads! 2018 looks to be an exiting year as I was again nominated for The Nashville music Awards in 4 categories. Female Vocalist of the Year and Rising Star. My song They Want More was nominated for Song of the Year and Radio Single of the year. It was so exciting!! Again, it was truly an honor to be nominated among all that talent!! I love my social media and all the radio stations that play my music and I'm so grateful for all the magazine write ups and interviews!
It’s funny how when a door opens, information you may never have known surfaces. A relative of mine informed me that I am a distant relative to The Song Bird of the South, Kate Smith and 3rd cousin to Rock-A-Billy Ray Smith.
In my spare time, (when I’m not singing! ) I like to quilt, read, fish, camp, bike ride and walk.
