Album Notes
Inspired by icons James Taylor, Carol King, The Beatles, Elvis Costello, and Eva Cassidy, Cindy McElroy's music takes on an acoustic flavor. "Word Might Get Around' evokes a range of moods, from wistful romanticism from songs like the opening track, "Perfect Love" to the bitter angst of "Easy for You". This EP touches on many of Cindy's personal events, including the track titled "Queen of Norway", highlighting her mother's experience with Altzheimer's. The music is driven by the soul/pop feel of drummer and producer Guiseppe Stella, who has spent time as a touring drummer with artists like Jerry Lee Lewis and Bobbie Gentry, the latter of which wrote a song, "Ode to Billie Joe", a song appearing on this EP.
