This Northern Girl was produced by Gord Matthews and Barry Allen. Recorded in 2001 at Homestead Recorders in Edmonton, Alberta and finally officially released 2015. Cindy's distinct sound evokes the feeling of truth and her compositions echo the sentiment to never soften your convictions at the expense of making others socially comfortable. The intense lyrical metaphors rifled with the eclectic acoustic style of Matthews create a visionary roller coaster ride of emotions that resonates images of love bitten with honesty.

“Cindy’s original songs are a far cry from the commercial poop clogging the airways at present – ‘He Can Fancy Dance’ should really stir your heart strings. If not, you might consider checking your pulse.” Dennis Charney – Country Music News

"A mix of country, folk, bluegrass and blues, Cindy brings her lyrics to life with a voice able to excel through a wide range - from the simple folk-like melody of Fondest Memories to the expertly-done higher notes in A Child and the clear, solid strength of the nearly acappella version Now He Can Fancy Dance. Drumming on her guitar, Cindy sings with strength and conviction about the course of a life drawn along by learning and hope in a tune that demands either dancing or driving fast with windows rolled down, voice singing loudly along." Lauren Carter - First Nations Drum
