Happy Birthday to My Angel

by Cindy Wilkinson

This lovely ballad weaves together the beautiful instrumental gifts of Matt Weesner on piano and Johnny Neill on fiddle with the glorious vocal by Cindy Wilkinson, as a touching story is told which may make you cry, but will also fill you with hope.

Album Notes
This song, Happy Birthday to My Angel, is a tribute to my sister, Carole Glenn, who sadly died of cancer in December 2010. She was born on my 11th birthday and we shared this day for 45 years. On my first birthday without her, I was heartbroken and filled with despair. But, being the creative artist whom I am, I decided to write a song about this experience.

On my birthday, September 13th, I published the lyrics of this song on my blog, the Jumpin' With Cindy Music Blog. It took me another month to get through the song without crying, and then, I was able to get in the studio and record this song. With Matt Weesner on keyboard, Johnny Neill on fiddle, and Jim Ratts as my recording engineer, we worked together to create this wonderful CD. Mixing and mastering was also done beautifully by Jim Ratts and the awesome cover art was created by Salli Ratts. What a labor of love!!

This is a sad song, but a joyful one as well. We will all keep our cherished memories of my sister in our hearts and her legacy will continue to live on through her amazing children. 50% of the proceeds from this song will go to the organization "Mourning Hope" in Lincoln, Nebraska, which assists children and families through their grief support services. So that's about it... and here it is... Happy Birthday to My Angel. I hope you like the song!
