ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
With the addition of smooth bilingual vocals, and an eye towards the dance floor, veteran Latin jazz percussionist Edgardo Cintron has broadened his landscape in the first offering for his new group CINTRON.

Assembling a virtual all-star cast of seasoned Latin musicians, this CD presents a wide range of Latin Carribean rhythms encompassing icy-hot Latin jazz (like the title cut "Absolutely", an original composition written by Cintron, Rocco DePersia and talented keyboardist/arranger Jimmy Lopez, the emotional "Can't Leave Yet" yet another brilliant original co-written and performed by Michael Pedicin, Jr. and the reworking of Horace Silver's jazz classic "Song For My Father") to crisp, crossover Latin pop (like the beautiful "In My Heart" another original composed, co-arranged and co-produced by JAYAR, who's also received critical acclaim for contributing sweet falsetto vocals and keyboards to this tune) and their take on Latin classics like Tito Puente's "Oye Como Va" and the Malo classic "Suavecito" considered by many to be a classic all over again because of CINTRON's version of this timeless hit.

There's also silky, sophisticated Salsa (like "El Paso Encarnacion") and a Latin reworking of the classic R&B favorite "Hey There Lonely Girl" and fiery pulsating Latin club dance music (like "Nena" and "Come And Share My Love").

Over 30 performers contributed to this effort and the result is a distinctive and exquisite musical journey that successfully introduces all of the above elements to the listener in an enjoyable Latin experience guaranteed to get the blood and feet moving....ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!
