ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
BERLIN is the long awaited new album from Christopher J Wray which remains to be his best endeavour to date. The culmination of 2 years work brings you his latest experimental electro collage, bringing a youthful new outlook to this genre, while bridging the gap between contemporary electronica and old school Berlin.

With splendid tracks such as \"Elektroid\", \"Portal\", \"Digital Child\" and \"Ruby Red\" we realise Chris is no derivative, and although we hear his influences his experimental interpretations create his own unique audio soundscape.

Chris says: \"For a very very long time now, I have wanted to compose something that resembled, or perhaps came pretty close to Electronic music that I grew up with. Whilst my main inspiration, Jean Michel Jarre, was and will always be the absolute pinnacle of who I am and how I describe my music, I can\'t help think about my other inspirations.

These other (and as equally important) guys whom certainly haven\'t shared the same limelight as Jarre but have managed to chisel their own musical footprint into my creations. Artists and bands such as Tangerine Dream, Andy Pickford, Mark Shreeve, Ian Boddy, Intelligentsia, Palancar and many others have given me the desire to produce my first ever Berlin-school-type project. In many ways, this album is dedicated to these brilliantly talented people, as they help me to open my eyes and turn a new leaf, as it were, in a new and different step of my musical career.

To me, Berlin is everything I\'ve wanted in an album for the past 20 years. Blendings of sequences, blips, whooshes and some darn-right raw and gritty lead/pad sounds. It also has my own usual blend of styles that range from my inspirations, new and radical ideas. \"

Since 1987, Christopher J Wray has pursued the unique and unusual for his album soundscapes. With music spanning the ambient, progressive and symphonic electronica genres, CJ has managed to create his own disctinctive style, which has gained him a prodigious fanbase. Here we have another example of emerging symphonic electronica from UK\'s finest.
