Album Notes
Claire Jaworski is a young singer-songwriter, born in Oakville, Ontario in 1997. She moved to Lunenburg, Nova Scotia as a baby, and grew up basically as a maritimer. Claire began singing at age 4, performing at the Lunenburg and District Music Festival, and has won the Top Junior Performer award more times than any other participant in the history of the festival. She also plays the guitar, French horn, and is completing her Royal Conservatory of Music Grade 9 piano certifications.
Claire has sung with multiple organizations, including Maritime Concert Opera, The Lunenburg Kinderchoir, and community girl’s choir Tea and Biscuits. When she was 11, Claire helped form a local band called Slow Cooking Cover, currently viewable on YouTube. Slow Cooking Cover has performed at prestigious venues such as the Canada Winter Games Mainstage in Halifax (2011), as well as the Canada Olympic Torch Relay in 2010.
Claire has recently branched out on her own, and is about to release her first singer-songwriter production, “Happy”. She is in grade 11 at Bridgewater Jr. Sr. High school, and plans to attend Carleton University in Ottawa to study towards a Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management, minoring in Music.
Claire has been co-chairing the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Society Youth Committee since 2011, helping to organize the annual Music From the Next Generation Youth Concert. In 2012, she took over as chair of the Greening committee; and in 2013, was elected a member of the Board of Directors of the Society. She is also a Planning Team member for the 2014 National Student Commonwealth Forum in Ottawa.
She enjoys listening to and performing all genres of music, from Puccini to Modern K-pop (reading and singing in Korean). Music is central, and always will be central to Claire’s life.
