ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Wimberley, Texas singer-songwriter Claudia Gibson molds her songs out of what she sees and knows: relationships that grow and deepen over time, the shock of unexpected loss, natural disaster and bad luck, and the elements of enduring love. Her songs feature strong melodies, sharp guitar-based harmony and arrangements, and honest vocals tinged with hard-earned wisdom - a combination that creates songs that are engaging at first listen, but also linger long after. These are songs that will draw you in and bring you back for more.

Produced with care by the Band of Heathens’ Gordy Quist and engineered by Jim Vollentine (the Old 97’s, Spoon, Patty Griffin, Courtyard Hounds), Step By Step reflects the warm, genuine, vintage vibe of its recording location, Austin’s Treefort, and the sensitivity and skill of the contributing musicians: Band of Heathens’ Scott Davis on bass, guitar, mandolin, keyboards and banjo, Richard Millsap on drums and percussion, Gordy Quist on guitar and vocals and Lauren Hunt of The Hard Truth and Lola & the Huntsmen on harmonies.
