Album Notes
Fango is New Tango with a Jazz and Urban attitude, a collection of compositions by argentinean composer and guitarist Claudio Ragazzi presenting Tangos, Milongas and Argentinean folk music; plus a rendition of Astor Piazzolla's "Verano Porteño" with a back beat, exciting and inspiring as it was conceived.

Claudio Ragazzi has been featured as a guest soloist with outstanding artists such as Gary Burton, Joe Lovano, Pablo Ziegler, Paquito D'Rivera, Yo Yo-Ma and Branford Marsalis to name a few; as a band leader his music has been heard in concert halls and in music festivals throughout the world. Besides writing for his ensemble Claudio also writes music scores for films and television and teaches Film Composition at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston.

In this album, Claudio assembled an incredible group of musicians including two very special guests, bandoneónist Hector Del Curto and bassist Pablo Aslán from his native Argentina.

The word "Fango" means "Mud" in english and in this case represents a tango with your feet covered with mud and your eyes looking into the future. It is a mad Tango, it's music with strong roots and a forward drive.
