Album Notes
Our First Rodeo consists of thirteen originals by Clay Babies. We sing and play guitars, Irish bouzouki, fiddle, mandolin, Irish tenor banjo, 5-string Appalachian clawhammer banjo, bass, harmonica, and rustic percussion.

Most of our originals on this album probably sound to someone like anything from Americana to old-timey country, Appalachian folk, very-early-country, or country-folk. It's not easy for us to say exactly which of the multitude of creative genre names we'd call any of originals; we'd be interested to know what you'd call it!

We recommend buying the hard-copy (this website calls it CD-RP on the link to purchase) since it has our art and liner notes and you can read interesting things about our songs as well as what all instruments are played.

Sweet comfort!
I love, love, love these songs! they tell a beautiful story of the couple's journey togther and of their ancestral heritage. The music is so sweet you can taste the honey, The vocals and instrumentals are aimed at and successfully pierce right through the heart. This CD deserves to be intensely listened to, and also to play in the background to create a homey ambiance.
