Album Notes
I'm a first grade teacher by day, NYC based singer songwriter by night. I'm deeply influenced by singers coming out of the Soul and R&B tradition; namely, Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, and Van Morisson. I write songs primarily as a means of catharsis. Usually, when a song comes, it takes less than 15 minutes to write. It's a wonderful feeling. Like getting a huge weight lifted off of your chest. Being a soul music fan I dig Mike's CD so much. His voice is emotional and can really nail the song just righ. That is important as his self-titled disc is full of great songs deserving to be heard - "Make It Feel Good" is a potential radio hit! Really good stuff.
