Album Notes
Chelsea Lynn LaBate was born under a mango tree in the South. She spins tales of huffing volcanoes in Kenya, man- sized chinchillas, small sea creatures with human crushes, pots and pans with watching eyes and tributes to the greats before us - Galileo, Webster, Our Founding Fathers as well as the many whose names go unknown.

She spent the past four years honing her song-writing skills on the stages of New York City's Lower East Side and Brooklyn. Already well known for her lush "song stories," she paints pictures with her words, lyrically exploring human suffering, the seeds of courage, the aftermath of disaster, pilgrimages and the often pain-causing patterns of nature.

Her ghostly ballads, combine an unchartable finger picking style with a warbling voice that captivates and stuns. Inspired by the works of Suzanne Vega, Billie Holiday, and Nick Drake, Chelsea Lynn has been prolific in her writing, and has composed and recorded dozens of songs since picking up the guitar in 2003.

She has toured Ireland, Belgium, The Netherlands, France, Spain and Germany and is currently based in Asheville, NC and touring the small stages of the Eastern United States. She has just won the Eddie’s Attic Finals competition in Atlanta, placed 2nd in the Flat Rock Songwriters Competition and has advanced in Asheville’s very own brown bag song off. As she moves from stage to stage she brings stories of her wanderings, books of poetry, handmade talisman and charms and melodies that move the soul.
