Album Notes
We are Cloutier"

Myke is a man of heart and soul you will here it in his vocal delivery and passion for lyrics and song writing!

Mark is well known for his guitar slinging ways. He has released many guitar instrumentals, one being “Wings of Fire” which was nominated in the Blues category in Syracuse, New York for the Sammy Awards Best Blues Recording 2011.He also graced the cover of the Syracuse New Times during the 2012 N.Y.S Blues Fest...Mark can take on many shapes and sounds when it comes to guitar approaches and Tunes Such as "Demon's Be Gone" highlight his SRV,Buddy Guy,Jimi Hendrix Influences,while tracks such as "Dreaming A Dream" show the subtle mellow side of his playing...
Mwe3 Guitar Magazine writes::

"Cloutier is a guitarist sounding clearly inspired by rock guitar greats like Jimi Hendrix and Johnny Winter as well as more traditional blues, R&B and jazz guitarists as diverse as Buddy Guy, Steve Cropper, Robin Trower and Kenny Burrell. In other words, Mark is a guitarist who's not afraid to break through with a hard rock riff before moving on to jazzing things up when he has to."
“No matter what you learn {musically}, there’s always more to be done,” he said while gripping his Stratocaster inside the de facto studio he has in his East Syracuse home." ( Syracuse New Times -Neil Benjamin 2012)

A modern day blues-rock album classic from the Cloutier brothers
Fans of 21st century blues-rock sounds must check out the albums of the well-regarded Upstate New York based guitarist Mark Cloutier. Back in 2011, helped spread the word about Wings Of Fire, which was a CD compilation of assorted instrumental blues and rock tracks first brought to light on Mark’s various self-produced album releases. Time flies as they say and now in 2018 Mark returns to the music world with Thunder ‘N’ Lighting, an album of all new material written and recorded with Mark his brother, singer and lyricist Myke Cloutier. The resulting ten track album by their band Cloutier, the ten track Thunder 'N' Lightning rocks up quite a storm and will quickly find a home among fans of finest rockin' blues being recorded today. Commenting on this first ever album release from Cloutier, Mark tells, “This is our first release together and I owe it to brother Myke for instigating this project by simply saying let’s do some jamming and see what happens. I’m very proud of this album.” Mark Cloutier’s previous albums, including Deep Down Blues and Attitude With Gratitude, were clearly inspired by the rock, blues and instrumental guitar music of guitar giants like Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Freddy King and Jimi Hendrix and after a few spins it’s quite clear that Thunder ‘N’ Lighting keeps the timeless blues-rock genre going strong. As Mark notes in the following 2018 interview with, in addition to his new album with brother Myke in Cloutier, he’s also still quite busy with his Syracuse, N.Y. based band, The Double Barrel Blues Band, and fans of his work with DBBB will equally enjoy this first Cloutier album. And, considering the sonic diversity that Mark brings to the blues and rock guitar world, there’s always the chance in the future for a follow-up album to his groundbreaking instrumental guitar album Wings Of Fire. There's plenty of trailblazing, rockin’ big-beat electric guitar sounds on this first Cloutier album, and with one killer track after the next, Thunder ‘N’ Lighting is a stunning mix of solid blues-rock at its finest.

Great debut album from the Cloutier brothers!
CLOUTIER'S new album THUNDER AND LIGHTNING has been playing almost non-stop ever since I got it, and each listen reveals another cool facet of the band. I've always loved Mark Cloutier's instrumental blues guitar releases and now with the addition of a great band, including his brother Myke on vocals, Jose Varona on drums and bassists, Mike Spadaro and Joel Kane on various tracks, this album brings the Cloutier brother's songwriting to the fore, and the results are great! There are the swampy blues stompers that Mark's fans have come to love so much, complete with his "little bit of Jimi, Stevie, Albert and Freddie but still 100% Mark" signature lead guitar weaving in out of Myke's powerful and expressive vocals, but this is much more diverse than just your average blues excursion. EVERY LITTLE THING would fit right in on an early ERIC BURDON AND THE ANIMALS album. I CALL HOME has a southern blues-rock feel and shows the band can do ballads as well as any band out there. DREAMING A DREAM is as pretty as the title suggests. GREEN EYED FOOLISH MAN is the band at it's blues shredding best. Musical influences from swamp, delta, Chicago, and even early British invasion blues, to blues rock and even a bit of surf music vibe all make an appearance. All ten cuts shine and each has it's own distinctive flavor. A great debut album by a band I hope to hear a lot more of in the future. Get it. You won't be disappointed.
