The Twilight Relays is best listened to in the nighttime hours. To settle into your couch and get lost in its intimacy, in its layers, in the rasp of Coan's voice.

Coan writes psalms. Meditations on love and invisibility and the longing for the freedom to jump into the stream and drift. These are woven together in sounds of classical guitar and the beat of electronic waves. It's great night time driving music...driven, expansive, ambient, hungry, but if you listen carefully, you will hear an invitation to the bonfire at twilight.

This carefully crafted album, Coan's 3rd and most progressive, was written and recorded in New York and San Francisco. You will find these cities in the music. Red electric Village nights, the Pacific Ocean and the Bay blanketed in a shivering fog. A girl passing a joint in Central Park. A poet sweating in Chinatown. A lustful oud player lost in the Mission.

Peter Coan's songs, penned on guitar and piano, are layered through an electronic soundscape, creating a fusion of the past and the present. The resulting album is an intimate listening experience. All of the colours are there.
