Album Notes
This is the first album by this young and talented vocalist and fiddle player. It is a fantastic new project. Beside some excellent vocals and top class fiddle playing Coby surrounded himself with some well-known guests and top musicians. The end product is this gem of 11 tunes.

In addition to Coby, these musicians are Jake Hooker- upright bass and vocals, Randy Reinhard- piano and steel guitar, Jim Loessberg-drums and the horns of Al Gomez (trumpet), Jay Fort (sax) and Dave Woodard (trombone.) The great Bobby Flores produced this album and plays guitars, fiddle, Tic-Tac and does background vocals. Bobby also is the guest vocalist dueting with Coby on Somewhere in Texas from the hit parade of Bobby's old boss, the late Ray Price. Jody Nix and the legendary Leon Rausch join Coby on Still Fiddlin' Around while Jody also joins Coby on West Texas Town. Leon also joins Coby on That's What I Like About a Country Song. Jake Hooker also joins on vocal on this one and Dance Time in Texas from the great George Strait.

Western Swing Monthly's own Barbara Martin suggested to Coby to do a Western Swing styled version of the Ricky Nelson's pop standard Lonesome Town and the end result is a gem. Coby also borrows Back in the Swing of Things from Tracy Byrd and Lost in the Feeling from Conway Twitty and country music. In the Mood comes from Glenn Miller and the big band era and True Love Ways is from the memory book of the late Buddy Holly. The final item features Coby on vocal borrowing Dear Lord from Tracy Lawrence.

This CD gem can be obtained on line at www.cobycartermusic.com It also can be purchased from him in the mail at 1378 South Roosevelt Road 5, Portales, NM 88130. The cost is $18, which includes shipping costs. It is $15. in person.
