Album Notes
The CoLabradors Biographic Information

The CoLabradors are as the name implies, a genuine collaborative effort.
Members- Todd Colebrook, Ed Hill, and Mark Riley. We are also grateful for the assistance of Colin Colebrook and Connor Colebrook (hereafter known as The Fabulous Colebrook Horns). Not to forget our friends and contributors Anique Zimmer who provided the visuals for our CD jacket and Nevil at Synergy Sound who mastered the recording.
All of us have been writing and playing Rock Music for the majority of our lives. (Just cannot seem to let it go, I guess) Ed and I are particularly delighted that Mark has taken the time from his busy schedule of teaching and performing and swooped in to dazzle us with some brilliant slide work. Anyone partial to that sort of thing should Google Mark Riley Trio. There is lots more where that came from. (Numerous recordings are available.)

As a group we hail from western Washington State in the general Puget Sound region. This recording (For The Love, A Rock Opera) is in direct response to world and national current events. Specifically relating to the personal impact of current events on individual family members serving in the armed forces of the United States of America. As observers, we cannot help but admire the dignity and perseverance of those who serve. We are also appalled by the perfidy of those in political life who are running the show. Nevertheless, this is Rock and Roll and as such humor is a mandatory element of the composition.

The format of “Rock Opera” causes the pace of this recording to be a little on the slow side as all of the characters and situations unfold. The depth of the story also requires some length of time to tell (one hour and six minutes). It is difficult and even undesirable to separate this story into sound bites. It is designed to be listened to as a whole (think, Thick As A Brick or The Wall ). The overall effect of the sound is something like “American Pink Floyd” with a touch of southern slide guitar and a jolt of Satriani. When you hear it our influences are quite apparent.

We believe that even when art is done for arts sake that it should be heard and observed, lest it be like the tree that falls in the forest when no one is there. It is our pleasure to present this art and our sincere hope that you will enjoy it in the spirit in which it was created.
