Shupikai--Collector
Shupikai—Collector: the latest musical release from Richard Brinka is sure to be welcomed by Jazz fans everywhere. The music is vibrant and rich, with a well-paced tempo in all selections. Richard's golden-voiced tenor saxophone leads assertively; his phrasing and improvisations well crafted and beautifully textured. He's ably complimented by a sensitive and highly focused rhythm section which features: bassist Ray Dieneman, drummer/percussionist: John DiGiulio, guitarist: Bob Petrocelli. On selected cuts, they are joined by keyboards: Joni Ernst, baritone saxophonist: Ken Conti. All highly accomplished musicians.

Shupikai is issued in the popular MP3 format as well as a CD. Whatever your choice, it is, in my opinion, an album you don't wish to be without.

To the ones who do enjoy Jazz, Shupikai is fulfilling need. Oh yeah. Oh Yeah!

Shupikai - Oh Yeah!
This is a must-have-album for any music lover. Love the sexy saxophone, love the jazz with a bit of latin beat thrown in.
This album was worth waiting for. Thank you Richard Brinka and Group for this special treat.

Oh Yeah!!!! - Words fail me.......................
And speaking of the Album "Shupikai" - by Collector II, track 10 with music - Oh Yeah!, I would really like to make a comment about will, but words fail me anything and I will describe in this small space will become too, before the gradeza this sound, mixed with a soft voice while angelic and exciting!
The vision of saxophonist R. Brinka surpasses our expectations when we quote the melody rhythm of a hot, solid, consistent and contagious .....
The hallmark of his improvisations becomes very striking here!!
A recipe with a sweet mixture with a dose of good taste can only have one name: SUCCESS ...
Congratulations Mr. Brinka for another hit among many that you will already belong!!
Us "mere mortals" and passionate "JAZZGROOVE" we are always gaining to have the opportunity to taste a little over his interpretations ...
Greetings from Brazilian jazz ....

Collector II Shupikai
I know Brinka personaly,I've played with him for a while in Zimbabwe. On previous recordings he showed power of fusion, remarkable work,in my opinion. On COLLECTOR II "Shupikai" ( Hard Times ) the bands second outing, he's very precise in line of main themas, directions where the band should move to.And with such diversible and expirience players (you can put Bob Petrocelli (G) in John Lee Hooker`s band,as well as in Sun Ra's "inastalation",he'll listen to the band and contribute with as little or as many notes as needed to make it sound even greater.John DiGiulio (D) is a drive to known and unknown levels of your own possibilities, with him you'll go places! Ray (solid) Dieneman (B) however wont let any"funny business" take place, exceptions can be in his solo, just to show you that's he's human too. With Richard Brinka (T.S.) ,gluing the whole thing up...well , just looking forward to see you guys in Amsterdam !,I want live expirience too!!Well done guys!

(Special appreciation for this live recording, whereby band disregard all new studio tecnologies, tricks and cosmetics, just pure music live as it is!!!)

Sitting here in L.I. New York.....
Well, if you love jazzy instrumental music with solid and infectious funky grooves like I do, you'll LOVE this record. The overall sound and feel of this feel good record harkens back to Manu Dibango's "Soul Makossa", with a little Gato Barbieri thrown in.... maybe even a little "Extrapolation era" John McLaughlin, ....and "Sun Song" era Sun Ra. Eclectic yet cohesive at the same time. Very cool tunes, indeed....and very well played! Right now I'm sitting in the backyard of my L.I. New York home, with my laptop... bopping my head, with an ice cold vodka and tonic, listening to this great record...and all is good! Whoa!, time for a refill! Honey, screw the neighbors....turn the stereo up a little louder!
