Uplifting
We always like to enjoy new-to-us music when we head out on a new camping adventure. And so we took "Lark" with us after having worn the tracks off of "Linnet". It was perfect. I mean perfect. The clarity, variety, rhythmic resonance, the plain joy in this work became the background of our explorations into the old growth homelands of osprey and to the near-ocean wanderings of heron. We are back home, in-city, and resurrecting the memories of our trip and the music that embraced these special places. Colleen's work is timeless. I really cannot be characterized because it is such a delicious melange of contemporary and traditional, kitchen table/cup o'tea with jazz in an internet cafe. It is heart. It is life. And I am glad that it is ours to enjoy.
