Album Notes
Here in the far eastern corner of the United States, where the sun rises first and sets even sooner, Maine people know the blues that darkness brings. We also know that you beat the blues by staring straight into their eyes and drag them into the light. This is the music that my brother and I grew up with in our parents’ home; the music we partied to in our friends’ apartments; the songs we song on our way into work at the mills, and the joyous noise we made in the barrooms and dance halls on Saturday night. America has changed, the mills have moved away and our people are struggling. The dream that we grew up believing is getting harder to believe but one thing’s for sure: on Saturday night we still put our new shoes on, hit the dance floor and beat those old blues down.

A classic Maine blues album, still fresh in 2017
A great album released in 2010 that doesn't get old. My favorite tracks are Lula and America is melting down. and the last track, I don't want to be free, still gives me that warm homesick feeling
