Album Notes
Common Ground began their career in the late 1970's, bringing their original brand of folk rock to people at the height of the punk movement. Well, why not? The band has been pleasing audiences all over the world through record releases and live performances.

Sadly, original singer/songwriter/guitarist Cheryl Cloud passed away in 1995 after a long, valiant struggle with cancer. At her request (and for the love of playing together!) they have continued on ever since, winning larger and larger audiences all the time.

Beautifully done--Cheryl Cloud's voice is magnificent!
On first listening, HARD CHOICES seemed somewhat joyless. It took a few listening sessions to hear the somberness being transformed into a sense of hope and inner peace that Cheryl and Common Ground must have felt. No "knowing" any member of this band personally, I sensed a common ground between our lives together as we struggle to find meaning and joy in life, which is the hallmark of what I call "intelligent music." Common Ground in HARD CHOICES shares with us their vulnerabilities as human beings and does so in a way that brings us closer.
