ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Connie began her singing career at a pizza parlour in Bloomingdale, NJ called, "Il Padrino's" That's Italian for "The Father's"

The early years had her performing in New York City cafes, her home state of NJ and making frequent trips to Nashville to hone her writing skills...however, in 2012, Connie found herself in the most unimaginable situation, enroute to Kenya! As you might know from her previous selections, although she is a world traveler, her heart had always been drawn to Scotland. Yet on her 50th birthday, she woke up in a tent in a rural Samburu village in the vast northern Kenyan desert. The next 4 years, she spent alongside her husband Roddy, working with these amazing people, sharing God's word, His love and writing some wonderful new music that was inspired by her time living in this wild place.

Though living conditions were rustic in every sense of the word, no running water, no indoor plumbing, no electricity, no cellphone or internet signal, there was the vastness of the Samburu starry night sky, colorful songbirds, countless goats, donkeys camels and village life, people who are so remote, Kenyans from Nairobi barely know they exist...but Jesus knows them!

To hear a village woman ask, "How do I know if I'm worshipping a false god?" Or see a Borana man's entire countenance go from despair to excitedly hopeful because of God's promises or experience the joy of Isaac at his new found faith in Jesus, made the most difficult challenge of my life, soul changing in ways that I will carry with me the rest of my days.

The music on this album is an outpouring of my time in Kenya...from the dark nights when I wondered if God was listening to the cries of my heart, (Did You Hear That? & Questions) the tears shed for many, many lives, young and old that passed without much notice by the world, (On the Other Side) the crazy, miraculous rescues from spitting cobras, tribal warfare, brush fires, scorpions, terrorist attacks, rejection and persecution for our faith and the glorious renewing of faith and hope in my heart and those around me.

My prayer is that these songs, that you'll probably never hear on Christian radio, because they have a bit too much Jesus in them, will be a saving grace for your soul.

I believe Jesus return is closer than ever, so Hold Fast as we are "Waiting on My King!"

Recorded in the heart of Samburu Kenya, although we did edit out the animal sounds and city noise!

Excellently Mixed and Mastered by John Blanche at his studios in Longwood, FL
