Album Notes
Few singer-songwriters have performed for so many audiences without being heralded via awards and recognition. It doesn't make sense. And yet in the saga of this songwriter, it does. Composer, bandleader, and entertainer COOLEY's art is the music of his native Pacific Northwest, where he began performing as a teenage pianist and vocalist, and continues today as a seasoned professional.
COOLEY has a cagey command of popular music styles, and yet he writes and performs his own songs. Lyrically, he displays a vivid imagination, while stylistically he reminds both viewer and listener of the appealing "cool" that an Elton John or Keith Urban embodies. Call it simple and raw charisma, or perhaps "old-fashioned showmanship," but either way, it works. COOLEY has developed a forceful musical personality out in the real world. He has spent his life in cocktail bars, rock clubs and event facilities. There’s been no superstardom, no limousines or private jets for this crooner. He's the real deal, and his debut album proves that he's also a real songwriter. He offers his fans and new listeners a 10 song gift, a collection of tunes that manages to span five musical genres – effortlessly.
The sheer accessibility of his music and poetry makes you want to hear the story. Better yet, to talk it over with him. Maybe even get involved.
