Album Notes
Mary Coppin

"Mary Coppin's voice has a magical quality, somewhere between Natalie Merchant and The Kinleys that cuts through the ordinary and can literally hush a noisy club. Her Pop/rock/folk songs take you on a journey from evocative questions to joyful answer", Chris Boardman, film composer, Mel Gibson's "Payback".

"Mary Coppin...she displays ample humor to go with the requisite confessionals. Wisely, producer Jame Donnellan keeps the arrangements sparse and focused on Coppin's earthy voice and clever lyrics. The yearning opener, 'Would You Could You,' and the spirited 'This Time' are particularly engaging...", Billboard Magazine

It's no surprise that people like Wayne Brady, sit-com star Jenna von Oy & Jamie Jones - lead singer of multi-platinum All-4-One have all asked to write with Mary Coppin immediately after hearing her music. In one song she is endearingly goofy with her quirky lyrics that let you live inside her proudly off-center, joyful, belly-laugh filled world, & then in the next she will deepen your soul with her effortlessly authentic heart-speak. She’s for real. & she loves you even more than you will love her .”

35 years ago Mary Coppin would have joined the stage with such big artists like Joan Baez, Judy Collins et al, I'm sure. Heard her perform in Kulaks Woodshed, and I'm glad CD Baby offers this album. It is a jewel and a must-have for everybody who loves singer-songwriters.

Great voice & talented songwriter
Very soothing to listen to this CD on a hot afternoon. I happened upon her CD after attending the Texas Wildflower festival upon a recent visit to Texas and hearing her perform live. She's got a fantastic spirit and energy about her that pulls you in to listen to her songs again and again. The song "Room up for Rent" is my favorite and illustrates her capacity for clarity and depth in her music. Keep up the great work Mary !
