Album Notes
Corinne Zupko, Ed.S., M.A., is a keynote speaker, adjunct professor, coach, counselor, meditation teacher, and an avid student and teacher of "A Course in Miracles.”

She also practices what she preaches. After suffering from debilitating anxiety she embarked on a spiritual journey nearly two decades ago and immersed herself in finding ways of restoring her own sense of inner balance. Dedicating her career path to helping others do the same, an essential piece of her recovery was learning how to live in the present moment. Mindfulness meditation therefore plays a significant role in her life.

Mindfulness has been defined as a way of paying attention in the present moment, in a non-judgmental manner.

When we practice mindfulness, we observe whatever is in our present experience with an attitude of curiosity and acceptance. Many people feel they “can’t meditate” because their minds “won’t stop.” Yet, mindfulness is all about learning how to work WITH this busy mind. This is the type of meditation that you can’t “fail” at, as long as you’re willing to keep bringing your wandering attention back to whatever is happening in the present moment.

In this “Take 5” CD, Corinne explains the basics of mindfulness meditation and then leads you through five different 5-minute meditations. These 5-minute meditations are the beginning steps toward becoming a more mindful, present person.

In an age where we are surrounded by endless distractions, learning how to be present is a critical skill that must be nurtured and maintained. All we have is right NOW. If we can’t be mindful and present now, what makes us think we’ll be able to be so later?

Begin your day with 5-minutes of mindful awareness. End your day with 5-minutes of presence. Take 5-minutes during the day to reconnect with yourself. All you need is willingness, and the “Take 5 Mindfulness Meditation Series.”

Take 5 ~ A Wonderful Way to Hit Your 'Reset Button'
Corinne has created a meditation CD that is ideal for anyone who is interested in integrating this mindfulness practice into his or her life. The compilation is ideal for the beginner, as well as those who practice regularly. On the personal front I have used it often to help quite my mind. In the course of very busy nights working in a crisis care setting where I sometimes only have a brief period of time to take a break, I covet 5 minutes during my dinnertime and use these meditations to hit my 'reset button' and restore my balance.
As a counselor, I have woven several of the tracks into group sessions and at the close of each have received positive feedback. Most participants have never been exposed to the power of meditation and can easily become overwhelmed with the thought of an unfamiliar practice. The 5-minute time frame of these meditations as well, as the fact that they are guided, have proven to be a great centering tool and manageable length for introducing meditation to the new learner (in this case, in inpatient mental and behavioral health).
I’d searched for ‘brief’ guided meditations without much luck until I was introduced to ‘Take-5’. Thank you, thank you Corinne for this wonderfully therapeutic gift!

Meditations for the Newbie or Chronically Busy
I purchased Corinne Zupko’s Take 5 Mindfulness Meditation Series: 5-Minute Meditations based on the strength of hearing her publically speak on spiritual themes, such as A Course In Miracles. I immediately liked Ms. Zupko’s ability to integrate spirituality into the everyday Human Experience.

As a novice to meditation and one of those people who thinks “he is to busy “ to meditate, I highly recommend this Meditation cd. The meditations are perfect for the beginner and the chronically busy. The listener is guided through various styles of meditations lead by the calming voice of Ms. Zupko. All I can say is that when I am done with these meditations, my nervous system has received a “tune up” (or a “tune down”) and I am ready to face the day. May this be the first of many works by Corinne Zupko, a new voice in the enlightenment movement.
