It should come as no shock to anyone that we at the Baby love and support our hometown music scene. We're not looking for a pat on the back; the plethora of great local bands makes it a pleasure. It's along these lines that we're happy to present this collection: a win-win-win situation for you the listener, local musicians, and some truly great causes. Representing the stacked lineup of last year's C>O>T>R festival, this compilation features 21 Portland bands, spanning just as many genres and stylistic approaches, all with a unique vision for the music they create. The music is indeed inspiring, and the minds behind the collection are taking full advantage of the momentum, opting to feed all proceeds from the sale of this terrific batch of songs back into the community, in the form of donations to a handful of non-profit organizations that support pertinent local issues. You'll get a ton of music (at a fine price, I might add), get turned on to some new artists, and know that your funds are going straight to the hands of some folks who want to keep their communities flourishing. Win. Win. Win.
