ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes

FORWARD “For the Children”
Wouldn’t it be nice if we all lived in a perfect world? No hunger, no medical problems, people weren’t jobless or homeless, families were financially secure. That would be great, wouldn’t it? Well, for the most part it’s not a perfect world. People face obstacles, deal with challenges and learn to face the unknown.
A challenge that has touched our family was when 2 of our loved ones were diagnosed with a hereditary genetic disorder, gaucher. This resulted all because something so perfect at conception happened to cause a lack of one enzyme. However, with treatment available they live a normal and healthy life.
Bringing awareness to this cause and helping to raise funds for research and finding a cure is our dream.
Being singer songwriters, musicians our whole lives, my brother “pop pop Sal” and I “poppy Emil” were inspired to write a children’s album based on our grandchildren’s experiences.
So here’s a little history of how each song was born……
A song like “sugar rush” came from a trip to Dylan’s Candy Store in NYC where my grandson was so excited that I was as excited as he.
“Ice cream truck” came from seeing and hearing one at every ball game or going to the park. We all always tried to be first in line. Run guys!
“First Day of School” pretty much is self explanatory….. a new experience back to school after a summer vacation.
“So many things to be” everyone’s parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends, are always saying to a child “ You could be this or that” Ding dong, another song was born.

“Yellow Bus” Going to work early every morning I was always behind a school bus, waiting for children to get on or off. The kids were half asleep looking out the windows. Mommy or Daddy waving so long, see you later!

“For the Children” When I see a little one having to face obstacles and the unknown early in life it touches a nerve. Believe me; all my nerves have been touched. Immediately this theme song came to life.

We hope you enjoy this album as much as we loved creating it.
Thanks, Emil and Sal Trombino
