Album Notes
"Cousins - The Songs of Beck & May" is the debut album from songwriters Jordan Beck and Jonathan May. Having drawn comparisons to composers such as Alan Menken, Stephen Schwartz, Billy Joel, Ben Folds, and Randy Newman, this eclectic collection of their songs range anywhere from inspirational ballads to Gospel Pop to Musical Comedy. Featuring the vocal talents of Broadway stars James Snyder, Todrick Hall, Allie Trimm, and David Burnham, indie recording artist Brad Standley of Brad Standley & The Foxflies, as well as vocalists Alistair Tober, Destiny Lofton, Mazie Wilson, Drew Tablak, Baraka May, and John Massey.
As a songwriting team based in Los Angeles, CA, their music has been performed from NYC to Australia, Chicago to LA, and even The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. where they took part in ASCAP's Broadway Today & Tomorrow Series. They are alumni of the Johnny Mercer Songwriter's Project at Northwestern University and the ASCAP/DreamWorks Musical Theatre Workshop.
