Dark Eyes

by Cozy

This Bay Area group uniquely blends rock and French chanson in their first album "Dark Eyes". Cozy's style, described as coffee-house-rock, or haunting-euro-pop-rock uncovers a reflective female voice in a mix of catchy songs and smooth ballads.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Cozy's background
Corinne Monnard Marcus, Thierry Roule and Tom Cullinen originally met in art school in San Francisco in the early 80's. Their paths crossed again a decade later, and after a few years of weekly jamming they decided to record their songs. All the material that could fit into two weekends of recording made up their first CD "Dark Eyes." Since then Corinne's husband, Larry, has taken up the bass, and joined as a band member. Cozy is currently writing new songs and looking forward to a new release sometimes soon.

Corinne Monnard Marcus - Drums/ Percussion /Vocals
Corinne's love of music became evident through her pursuit of dance. In 1995, she began drumming playing the doumbek, Middle Eastern rhythms, the drum kit, congas, and various percussions instruments. From 1997 to 2002, Corinne played percussion/vocals and recorded three CDs with the Flying Other Brothers. She performed at various benefits and at some of San Francisco's favorite clubs and venues. Before that she gigged with several San Francisco bands, including Jiffy Groove and the Vortex of the Farralons. In 2001, with husband Larry, Corinne released Cozy's "Dark Eyes". In her extra-musical life, Corinne is a mother and runs Stellar Healing Arts, a practice dedicated to health and conscious living.
