AllMusic Review by Jonathan Widran

Latitude, 10 years after the last Latitude (40 Degrees North) has founding member vibist/percussionist Craig Peyton teaming up with New York guitarist John Putnam, and is just a little deceptive. Just as they're about to ease your mind into a cool, ambient state of hypnosis, they turn up the electro and natural percussion elements and get your toes tapping. On the multi-faceted Blue Curve, they employ every sound that fits in the outlet, from synth bells to spacey sound effects, to create a heightened consciousness of edgy new age. The melodies, which are somewhere between spacial oddity and pure pop, grow on you through a unique combination of guitars and vibes. Just when the comfort zone kicks in, they send us into an Eastern mysticism vibe that changes the mood from playful to pensive. Somewhere along the line, these two seem to have picked up a few rock and roll records, and these electric guitar drivers are the best tracks. Overall, it's scattered fun, but always unique and entertaining.
Reviews: "Blue Curve" was released in 1996. The duo certainly doesn't miss a beat with the title track, of which, there are two versions. I enjoyed the first version with its hip beats. "Ida" & Altitude were also very soothing. The real highlight is the track, "Love or Fusion", which is nice and smooth to listen.

Musician/ Aerial Cinematographer/ Producer
Craig L. Peyton

An artistic development of over 40 years can be evidenced in the career of Craig Peyton. Moving from music to film, Peyton has charted a unique creative course. Peyton's production, writing, and arranging skills contributed to many top 10 hits. (including Peyton's own #1 charting AC release, "Latitude, 40 Degrees North"), in the 80's and 90's with artists including James Brown, Melba Moore, Nona Hendrix, Levon Helms, and Dan Hartman, and made Peyton, a much sought after producer in New York City. Peyton has written underscore music for the Smithsonian, PBS "Nature" series, "Friends",and many TV productions and jingles.

In 1991 Peyton founded EarthFlight Media, a multi media production and music company that combined his passion for flying, filming, and music. A 4,500 hour instrument rated pilot, Peyton learned the craft of aerial cinematography flying his aircraft, a Mooney 201,while filming a full length music video to support his "Latitude, 40 Degrees North" audio CD. Peyton has flown aerials on assignment throughout North America, Central America, South America, Africa, and Europe. His aircraft is outfitted with a custom film camera wing-mount, and various hard points for lipstick cams and digital.

Continuing to release CD's on his EarthFlight music label, Peyton has also been busy producing aviation related programs for cable TV. The Outdoor Life network had Peyton fly throughout North America filming nature backdrops for a news info program. Peyton produced a one hour show for Speed Vision, titled "The Rebirth of Civil Aviation". This program ran over 30 times. Peyton hosted BET's "Jazz Central" program, featuring many of his aerial "Visual Music" productions. This led to an appearance on the CNN Morning News, discussing Visual Music and aerial photography. Regional News Network's (RNN) uses Peyton's time lapse aerial down the Hudson River as it's opening nightly news shot.

Peyton's industrial work includes turnkey productions for major aviation companies as, UPS Aero, Sennheiser, Extra Aircraft, Oxford Aviation, Northstar Avionics, Pilot Communications, JP Instruments and many others. One recent project involved producing a short film for the French turboprop aircraft, TBM 700, on location in Monument Valley, for the aerospace giant, "EADS". EarthFlight Media has also just completed a major promotion for the Ministry of Tourism, Bahamas, enticing pilots to visit the country. Currently, Peyton just returned from Baffin Island, Canada, filming for Folbot Inc., a folding Kayak company.

Peyton flew with legendary aerial photographer Robert Fulton, in a single engine Cessna aircraft from New York to Quito, Ecuador while helping shoot 35MM aerials for the BBC. Peyton's aerial photography has contributed to many films like "Storm" with Luke Perry, "Island of Doctor Moreau" with Marlon Brando, as well as numerous TV and feature releases.

Peyton Book:
Cloudman,Surviving Stage IV Cancer

MayCay Beeler Review:– beautifully and soulfully written- inspires us to hold on in the toughest of times. Through Peyton’s heartfelt and heart wrenching story, we learn that anything is possible, including a second shot at life. Peyton is living proof.

A famed aerial cinematographer, musician, family man and accomplished pilot, Peyton seems to have it all. Yet a number of years ago, he nearly lost everything to Stage IV cancer. Given a mere 2% chance to live, he was subjected to hideous experimental cancer treatments in a last ditch effort to beat the beast. This, after a healer told him he would die. How many of us would have simply succumbed to these terrifying doomsday forecasts?

No sugar coating. Just raw truth. Baring his soul in his book, Peyton drains our tears while filling us with hope in his remarkable survival story. For anyone suffering from anything where hopelessness reigns, that may be ready to throw in the towel, CLOUDMAN is a testament to why giving up is not an option. I have wondered what I would do in his shoes, because it’s difficult to imagine such strength, but now I know, thanks to Peyton’s experience, the strength most certainly exists- within.

Of special interest to pilots, yet recommended for anyone in a dark place where despair and anguish abound, CLOUDMAN empowers, showing us how things can sometimes turn around.

More than inspirational, the book includes valuable information that may make a significant difference in our lives. Highly recommended. A deep and important must read.

I have follwed Craig's work since Band x, not Brand X. This is different, it is growth. I love vibes, play them poorly, but if I could play with his grace, & insight on the instrument I would be happy. Do yourself a favor & get this disc, it is smooth, textured. It is not be-bop for those looking for that. It is smooth sailing, a great work in my opinion
