Album Notes
Craig Boyd's
BACK On Track

Craig Boyd is back with the release of his new smooth jazz CD, Back on Track. Over the years, Craig's musical talent contributed to the success of many Pop, R & B, and Dance recordings in the U.S. and Europe. After working for many years as a composer, arranger, producer, and studio guitarist for name groups and solo artists, Craig took a leave from this line of work to further pursue a second career as an educator of music. Currently, he is the Academic Chair of Music at SUNY Suffolk, Long Island, NY.

Craig has teamed up with friend and engineer Paul Bagin, who co-produced and mixed the Back on Track CD. Paul currently works as a producer and engineer for Grammy Award Winning Dave Holland, Pat Martino, Chris Potter, Billy Kilson, and many others. All selections on the CD were placed in the superlative hands of Bob Ludwig to be mastered at Gateway Music.

Through family, relationships, friends, and life experiences, Craig became inspired to compose the music for the CD Back on Track, a musical story, which features Craig Boyd as a smooth jazz guitarist. Back on Track is smooth jazz with a new twist of style, uniqueness and originality.

Each musical selection expresses trials and tribulations that we can truly associate with our life experiences.

I would like to thank the Father in heaven, and my mother and father, Louise and Henry Boyd who are with him, for giving me the guidance and the opportunity to share my talent and love of music with you.

Back on Track will undoubtedly stimulate your thoughts and emotions.

Have known Craig nearly all my life and always loved both his music and his "Disco Cop" dancing, too! E-mail me, Craig--Lindsey's got a little prodigy on her hands just waiting for his Uncle Craig!!

Captivating Smooth Jazz
Back On Track is Awesome! Craig combined R & B and Jazz to stimulate your soul with mood and energy. Each selection is a musical journey that takes you to new heights.

Bob D.

Truly gifted artists who make the intricacies of their music appear natural, almost subliminal. Great sound.

Bill Baier

enjoyable and relaxing--a great CD

Highly recommended!
Craig was my Concert Band instructor at Suffolk County Community College back in the early 1990's, and I had the opportunity to play the clarinet for him for three semesters. If he hadn't been so persistent during winter break (calling me, changing my class schedule to accommodate band, etc.) I would have missed out on something great. It was the best 2.5 years of my clarinet playing (and I had played for almost 8 years prior). I even played my last semester for no credit. When I saw that he was playing at BNL, I knew I couldn't miss it. Truly a wonderful experience and a great CD, I have it playing in my computer all day. I wish him all the best!

Art Moon

Awesome sound. Very creative and wonderful music.
If you love jazz especially artists like George Benson, Larry Carlton and the late great Wes Montgomery you will love this CD. Craig's musical sound is unique in his own style coupled with brilliance. Truly a great musician and writer/arranger. Everyone should listen to this great talent. You will not be disappointed I promise you.

Joachim Brueggmann

Great guitar work!!!
I like this CD very much. Sometimes Craig Boyd reminds me of Doc Powell or Norman Brown. Really great guitar work in style of jazz/r&b/smooth jazz.

Georgi W.

Smoothes the stops and go of commuting! Really interesting.
13 must be his lucky number, cause each track was better than the last. The arrangements and vocals blended together and didn't intrude on the mood. Awesome! carry on!

Patricia Henderson

Jazzy and upbeat
I really enjoy listening to "Back On Track" on my way home from work. The selections relax me and put me in a great mood. I'm glad I purchased it.
