Album Notes
Craig Owen has released his third CD, DAYDREAMS AND MEMORIES. In a departure from his previous work, this new CD is all solo acoustic instrumental guitar. Each song is performed in a meditative, down tempo style that will set you mind at ease. Craig has written his tunes in the style of the New Acoustic music pioneered by Will Ackerman and other artists in the early days of Windham Hill Records. Craig's music has also been influenced by the work of Doug Smith, Steve Davison, Gary Wager and other solo instrumental guitarists. Alternately described as New Age fingerstyle guitar, each track invites the listener to let their mind wander, reflect and leave behind your worries. There are no fancy electronic effects in these songs, only the quiet acoustic guitar. Craig's style has also been described as Ambient music, due to the low key reverb in which each song has been recorded. The tempo will vary, fitting the mood of each passage and avoiding the cliched sound of many commercial artists. Come, listen and relax in this easy going style.
