Time Bomb Baby

by Cris Cuddy

"If there’s one thing everyone should agree upon, this music is never boring. It’s indie music, a mixture of blues, rockabilly, and a little Mexican and calypso and other styles you may not describe. He switches tempos and styles and keeps it all interesting from start to finish”

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The new cd TIME BOMB BABY by Vanishing Castle artist Cris Cuddy marks a jubilant return to Nashville and his partnership with roots producer George "Tonechap" Bradfute and multi-instrumentalist Fats Kaplin. Their earlier work included the CD's "Nowhere Town" and "Heartbeat", recorded in East Nashville days.

1. ALL THE PAIN (Money Could Buy) - 3:22
• Based on the story of Christina Onassis, the magic saxophones of the Bradfute Bros. add a classic reggae tinge to this song.

2. LET’S GET DRUNK TONIGHT - 3:53
• An exuberant party song for those who want to join their friends and chase their troubles away.

3. JERRY LEE AND ELVIS - 3:40
• A rockabilly-eque tribute to two original greats, plus a hats-off to the seminal city of Memphis.

4. ASS KICKIN’ ANGEL - 3:24 (Tom McCreight/Cris Cuddy)
• A furious rockin' and tongue-in-cheek rant about the price to pay for bad behavior, featuring blistering slide guitar by the Tonechap.

5. HEARTACHE - 3:42
• A dreamy, heart-breaking ballad of lost love featuring the gorgeous steel guitar of Fats Kaplin.

6. IN MEXICAN TOWN - 3:11 (Russell deCarle/Cris Cuddy)
• A mariachi tinged celebration of the vibrancy emanating from this magical spot in Detroit City.

7. DRINK UP AND BE SOMEBODY - 3:28
• A joyful and breezy song about a simple solution to a sad situation.

8. NASHVILLE STAR – 3:55 •
A gritty view of the price of fame through the eyes of a former country music star. For Joe Sun.

9. I’M ALONE AGAIN (Tonight) - 4:14 •
A wistful portrait of life and love in the digital age orchestrated beautifully by George and Fats.

10. THIS LITTLE WORLD - 3:36 •
A tribute to this beautiful world, and a sad comment on those who abuse it for their own gain.

11. NOWHERE TOWN – 3:30 • (Sharon Anderson/Cris Cuddy)
Everywhere is Nowhere unless you take the challenge to make it Somewhere.

12. TIME BOMB BABY - 3:35 •
• A furiously rockin' song about raging hormones and the inevitability of love.

• A tribute to the soul of classic Opry favourites Minnie Pearl and Hank Williams with gorgeous fiddle and steel guitar by Fats Kaplin.

14. THERE GOES MY MIND AGAIN – 4:09 •
A lonely view of love gone wrong with a hint of Don Gibson and a stunning solo by Don Rooke.

15. AN OLD MAN WITH THE BLUES - 3:47 • (Tom McCreight/Cris Cuddy)
The too-true story of the rise and fall of a popular artist in the country music world, featuring banjo and fiddle by Emory Lester.

16. ALL THE WILD THINGS COME OUT AT NIGHT – 3:31 •
When the day-time lets its hair down the night-time takes us all to another world.
