ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Crowes Pasture is the acoustic duo and husband-wife team of Andy Rogovin and Monique Byrne. The duo brings leather and lace harmonies to classic and contemporary folk music in a style that draws from the old-time and bluegrass traditions, including such artists as Gillian Welch/David Rawlings, The Civil Wars and Johnny and June Carter Cash. The duo’s debut EP, Best Believe, was recorded in early 2015 in Nashville.

Crowes Pasture's second EP, "Ramblin' Round: A Woody Guthrie Tribute" was recorded in spring 2016 in Boston. The duo covers six of their favorite songs by the legendary folk singer, Woody Guthrie. "Belle Starr," is an entertaining and juicy tale about the notorious female American outlaw who lived in the late 1800s. "Forsaken Lover", a hauntingly beautiful love song, is a rarity in Woody's general repertoire of songs about injustice, poverty and desolation in America. Classics songs "Pastures of Plenty" and "Hobo's Lullaby" are performed by the duo with a striking intimacy. "I Ain't Got No Home", and "Goin' Down the Road Feelin' Bad" are powerful tunes about hard times that have enduring relevance today. The duo also covers "Song for Woody," a beautiful tribute song to Woody, written by none other than Bob Dylan.
