Album Notes
This group has been closely associated with Piazzolla's Tango Nuevo style for a decade, perfroming in Tango Shows, Milongas and has recorded for radio, film and TV. Their first CD "El Tango en Africa" explored the links between Tango and African music, and in this second album, they explore the cross-roads with Jazz, and in particular, Cape Town Jazz. A melting pot of cultures and styles, the original tracks from Cape Town based musicians are an important contribution to the world of Tango music. Jazz imporivisation, combined with the strict structures of classical composition, makes for a funky disc, which already has had great success in the concert-hall.
