ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
After their debut CD release in 2005, CT and Tommy Lee spent the next few years performing as an acoustic duo up and down the California Coast from Santa Cruz to Malibu. This new album of original music is more akin to the Rockin' Soul type music that the both have played separately and together over many years in bars and nightclubs. But don't move too quickly to catalog their sound under one style. The duo's songs delve into rock , reggae, soul, and acoustic alt country, creating a spicy blend for the SoulSauce stew.
A few of the tasty ingredients on SoulSauce:
Summerland is a toe tapping, hip swaying melody that picks up a a great California vibe via the Caribbean.
Amazonia is a somber tribute to the Rainforest demise in South America.
Velvet Elvis rocks on about the spoils of a broken relationship.
Safe to Say is a reggae audience favorite.
Sol Leone has a cooking Latin Jazz flavor.
Latinia is a remake of the surf song penned by Tommy Lee Nunes. This time we stick fairly true to the original with a few twists. This instrumental was a hit for the Sentinels back in the 60's and has quite a history as it has been used in numerous surf and skate films, surf compilations and also on Sex in the City and Sponge Bob Square Pants.
SoulSauce Origins: Chet"CT" Hogoboom and Tommy Lee Nunes a San Luis Obispo based singer songwriter duo had started work on a new album of original material and were trying to find the right musicians to play on it. Looking for a live in the studio sound they tried different combinations of players until they rehearsed with Keenan Michael Vallone on drums and Bruce Sorensen on bass. This combination clicked so well and so quickly not only did they record the new album "SoulSauce", but started a new band of the same name. With four different singers, harmonies abound. Couple that with a group of guys that can groove and you've got The SoulSauce Band.
Adding to the mix on this CD were some very talented players; Alex Kizanis on keyboards and Stan Sine on harmonica. Jazz legend saxophonist Ernie Watts plays on 3 cuts (check his discography!) and adds a cool vibe that fits perfectly with those songs.
Take a listen and see where it takes you.
