Carbon 19

Very tasty album! yum yum yum
Pure Gold. A unique artist along the lines of Peter Gabriel except not like peter gabirel. A great guitarist
as well. Mixes folk and samplings and world music. Quality with a capital T!

chris cunningham offers a unique style of somewhat jazzy, folky, acoustic-based, highly poetic, impressionistic songs. it's the running, plucked guitar arpeggios that immediately attracted me to chris' stories and the deft "cut and paste" assembly of images drew me in further and further. mark this one among the best of the year. :: brian baker ... gajoob :: http://www.gajoob.com

from the moment i hit "play" and heard the distant siren leading into the distinctive guitar riff; the soft vox and harmonium; the tabla and chris cunningham's emotion-laden voice telling a captivating tale in "walking into the lightning", i knew i was hooked. at times dark and moody, and at other times uplifting and hopeful, stories to play is an exceptional cd... one of the best i've heard in 1999, and every bit as good as just about anything any independent artist has put out in this decade. :: fred wheeler ... indie journal :: http://www.strangecloud.com
