Album Notes
The Curb is the mutual brainchild of Chris and Hillel Arnold, two brothers raised in a radical Christian community in the strip-mined backcountry of southwestern Pennsylvania. Their music is steeped in the secular and religious folk/blues traditions of their childhood. Yet these songs are played with an edge, one that stems from the brothers’ affinity for full-bore rock and roll. Combine these two musical threads with a politically charged lyrical sensibility and you’ll have a pretty good idea what The Curb is all about.

A diamond in the rough
Unpolished, clever and brutally honest, Country Inside is nothing short of ingenious. Cutting strait to the chase, Down Like Hell will blindside you with its unabashed gritty rock influences, leaving you to wonder how exactly this is considered to be country. Fear not, what follows including, most notably, the title track Country Inside and the nervy Stuck In Bliss comprise a solid, highly energized alternative-country oriented album. Clearly the best song of the disc; Friendly Fire masterfully paints a grim, unrelenting portrait virtually bursting with blue-collar-themed angst. With the brilliantly oddball track Vincent's Ear rounding out the record, The Curb has created an instantly likable, must have for independent music lovers everywhere.
