Take It Like A Man

"Shannon sings with the brassiness of Bonnie Raitt, writes liked a funked-up Sheryl Crow and plays guitar as if she's channeling both SRV and Jimi Hendrix…(Shannon is) the best argument for reincarnation aside from the Dalai Lama himself” ~ Playboy Magazi

Album Notes
After miraculously recovering from a near-terminal case of "Bruce", blues artist turned rock and roller, Shannon Curfman has finally released the follow-up record to her critically acclaimed debut album, "Loud Guitars, Big Suspicions". Originally signed to Arista Records at the age of 14, "Loud Guitars" rose to the number 3 spot on the Billboard Blues Chart. She has shared the stage with legends B.B. King, Buddy Guy and Santana and has recorded with John Mayall, Billy Preston, Meshell N'degeocello and Keb' Mo. Her songs have appeared on the soundtracks of "Where the Heart Is" and "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants", as well as HBO's "The Sopranos", "G String Divas" and the WB's "Gilmore Girls". At 14, Shannon was praised for her blues-driven songwriting, gritty, soulful voice and her scorching guitar. Now 20, Shannon's back on the road honing a new set of songs featured on her new release, "Take It Like A Man". With age and experience, the music has evolved and the genre has moved slightly away from funky-blues towards rock & roll.

Great follow-up to Loud Guitars, Big Suspicions
Stone Cold Bitch really blows you away, and sets the standard for the album. The next four songs are excellent too, and Do Me is another favourite of mine. Shannon really rocks, I can`t wait to hear more from her.

Artist Worth Your Time & Money!!
The CD arrived quickly and was packaged great! I listened to it and absolutely loved it...Shannon is definately going places in this world and I'm glad I stumbled onto her amazing music! This is a "Must Have" CD for any music fan!!

I had been waiting for this for 7 years!
Since I saw her show in Japan about 7 years ago, when she released "loud guitars, big suspicions," I had been waiting for her 2nd album, and finally got this! I'm so glad. This one is less bluesy, but harder rocking. Must buy. Must listen.

The CD is fantastic! I love every song. I wish there were more songs, but I am sure more is coming. Everyone I have played it for has been blown away! Go Shannon!!!

Little Girl -- Big Sound
Caught Shannon at the Cutting Room in NYC last weekend -- great show!

This CD only contains only five songs and leave you wanting more. Fortunately, more is available.

I also recommend her previous CD: Loud Guitars, Big Suspicions

Quality rock! Shannon has matured, is experienced -- but only 5 cuts?
Shannon´s matured now and experience has made a difference in her evolution & choice of material, obviously. Because I appreciate her talent and her thoughtfulness so much, I´ll let her get away with only giving us 5 rockin´songs. My favorite is Do Me, but I´m also partial to Stone Cold Bitch and Sex Type Thing. Hope she sells loads of CDs - Hoping to hear more soon!!!

Worth The Wait
The CD is very good. Shannon is a talented artist who is just now coming into her own. Good all around disc.

You have to buy this CD!!!!
From the opening song Stone Cold Bitch to the next Take it Like A Man you know your listening to pure kick ass rock and roll. Shannon delivers big time on this CD and finishing with the bawdy Sex Type Thing shows she is not a little girl anymore. Buy this CD you will not be dissappointed...I only wish it had more songs:)

In my previous review I called one song Take It Like A Man the song is Do Me. The main verse has the line take it like a man hence the album name. Either way the song totally ROCKS!!!!!!! oh and did I say BUY THIS CD?

Couldn't believe it. So happy to receive it so fast and hear a rocky sound. Her guitar playing is so good and voice is just amazing and more mature than before. I saw you can get this cd from her website and she will sign it to you too! Awesome. So sweet!
