ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This 2 CD recording includes liner notes with a short bio for Curtis DuPuis and background that Curtis provides on his Chehalis tribal heritage, the storytelling tradition of the Chehalis and of Curtis' family, the Pete family. The Chehalis Indian Reservation is located mid-way between Seattle, WA and Portland, OR, and 40 miles form the Pacific Ocean. The 2 CDs contain 12 traditional stories or legends passed down to Curtis by his Pete family elders. The two remaining tracks, "Up and Down the River" and "Basketmakers" are Curtis' own stories, told as reflections or memories of his own experiences growing up on the Chehalis Indian Reservation.
