Curt Jones
Funk/ R&B Vocalist / Lyricist / Musician / Producer

“360 Degrees”

Curt Jones is a multifaceted vocalist, dynamic songwriter, proficient musician and
a magnificently awesome performer. On his appropriately - entitled solo project
“360 Degrees,” Jones has ultimately come “Full Circle.” The genre of this project
is “ Funk - Soul/R&B/ Smooth Jazz and sometimes Pop.” Yes Jones is not a
stranger to perfection. His current project is produced with the mark of excellence
throughout - and rythmically diffused with this qualitative distinction.
Ah! “360 Degrees” is destined to ignite bold new sparks in the Adult
Contemporary to Jazz, R&B and pop communities!

Jones’ musical roots lie in the very soil of an avidly musical family. He is a native
of Linden, New Jersey and owns his own production company, Red Virgo. As a
musician, Jones’ primary instrument is guitar. However, he also prolifically plays
keyboards and bass. His music has always been heavily influenced by the
people that he looked up to - Marvin Gaye was one of those special artists
that he felt he should have met. Jones’ solo singing style and music are further
infuenced by some of the great legendary and sensational artists, such as : sly
& the family Stone, jimi Hendrix, Santana, Ray Charles, Quincy Jones, Stevie
Wonder, B.B. King, Prince, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, The Davenport Sisters,
The Spinners and Harvey Fuqua.

Moreover, Jones’ list of credits are quite impressive; and one needs only to take
a quick glance to understand such quality. The sheer depth and intensity Jones
brings to the stage mesmerizes his audiences. In 1979, Jones joined Atlantic/
Cotillion records artists, “Slave. He was a vocalist and co-wrote songs on the
“ Just a touch of Love” album which produced the smash hit of the same name.
He also sang, co-wrote and co-produced songs on the album “Stone Jam,”
which received gold recognition and contained the indisputable classic jam
“Watching You.”

Jones & founding member of “ Slave,” Steve Washington, left the group in 1980
and collaborated on the funky and diversified R&B groove of a new venture,
“Aurra.” Specifically, “Aurra” recorded four (4) albums for the Salsoul label from
1980 - 1984. Jones’ outstanding credits did not stop there. In fact, he paired
with the powerful & dynamic vocals of Starleana Young. Jones and Young as a
duo were responsible for the Top 20 Billboard R&B charting hits: “Are You single”
and “Make Up Your Mind.” In 1985, “Bedtime Story,” the fith and final “Aurra”
album on “ Next Plateau/ Virgin 10 Records,” ignited a colossal British hit, “Like I Like It.”
In 1987, “Aurra” changed its name to “Deja” and delivered an astonishing hit,
“You& Me Tonight,” a number one hit on Billboard’s R&B charts, and a top 10
single on the British Pop charts. In addition, the 1988 album also reached the
“Top 20” plateau on Billboard’s R&b album charts.

“Deja’s” second and final album, “made To Be Together,” produced by Teddy
Riley, also scored tremendously in the top 20 on Billboard’s R&B charts.
Remarkably, “Deja” registerd “Eight Top 20 R&B singles from 1985-1990,
with significant international success.

Well, one can look at Jones’s success and simply say “Wow!” Not just yet,
because Jones has come “360 Degrees” with another sensational CD project
that is destined for success. The musical arrangements throughout the CD are
delivered with such intensity that you’ll want to pat your feet and move your body.
“Make Me want You,” “Seasons,” “Full Circle,” “I’ll be Around,” and “Somebody’s
Watching You” set a tone throughout that “produces” not only music - but
“creates” a musical story. However, these are only a few of the songs on this
smorgasborg of melodiousness. In fact, Jones’ vocals majestically connects
the songs like an artist’s brush to the canvas, inviting you to make a “360
Degree” turn with him.

360 and Solo CDs...
Curt Jones, I had to get both CDs!! Your writing style, the romantic lyrical content as well as your musicianship and production skills move me beyond words can articulate. I have listened to both CDs over and over and although it is difficult to just pick ONE, I have highlighted a few of my favorites on Facebook to give you the props you so deserve! ALL your music has made an impact on me and my own music endeavors. You are and have always been one of my favorites in the business, from Slave, Aurra and Deja projects, I have followed your career and I am so glad YOU followed your heart and continue to write music FOR and FROM the heart, you will always have an audience as you continue this path of music production. I look forward to your 3rd project coming soon! Wishing you much love, peace and continued success! Love, Love, Love, YOU, The Artist!!

360 Degrees
The entire album is one of my favorites of any artist!...The honesty and clarity of heart are profoundly spoken through the lyrics while the music sets an atmosphere for listening, absorbing, reflecting and realizing. "360 DEGREES"...understanding that 180 Degrees is a change of mind...another 180 degrees finds you full circle realizing LOVE is what it is...it remains the same."...Oh! Did I say "I LOVE THIS ALBUM"...will always believe it should be remastered and released!

Real music from a real artist
I could not believe me eyes when, on my daily visit to CD Baby new releases, the name Curt Jones appeared. This guys pedigree is legendary & this album is sensational. Whoever wrote "a blend of smooth jazz & RnB" must have been listening to something else. This is SOUL at its finest, you will not find a better soul album this year. It is unlike Slave & Aurra, most tracks are mellow with just 3 mid tempo & 1 uptempo. Great to have you back Curt, I love this album and will be recommending it to friends & DJ's here in England
