ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
About three years before her unexpected death, Dafni entered the studio to record this EP. It has taken me a while to get around to releasing this record, but I think these songs are a beautiful final legacy to Dafni's career, and demonstrate her major strengths as a songwriter. Dafni regarded "Gloomy Day" as the best song she ever wrote, but I think these songs are all first-rate! See what you think.

The EP features five original songs and a cover of Willie Nelson's "Crazy," most famously performed by Patsy Cline. With contributions from Dafni's regular bandmates — Geoff Rakness on bass, Mark San Filippo on drums, and Debra Tala on keyboards, accordion, and backing vocals — as well as lead guitar from the maestro Tony Gilkyson and a cameo on pedal steel from another maestro, Rick Shea.

Recorded, mixed, and produced by Jeb Lipson at his Big Scary Tree Studios in Sunland, CA. Mastered by Preston Edmondson at Presto Mastering, Los Angeles.

Front cover design by Angela Marie, with photos by Alexandra Loftus.

I hope you like the record!

With love,

Pete (Dafni's husband)
