"My goal with this album is to share classical music with everyone. I reinterpret the classics through a contemporary lens – making them fresh and innovative, with improvisations driven by a modern beat.”

Violinist Daisy Jopling was born in London, and now lives in NYC. She has spent the last 12 years living in Vienna and touring the world with the creative string trio “Triology”, with whom she has recorded 4 CDS, 2 with BMG RCA Victor. www.triology.cc. Her Solo work has included playing a concerto in the Royal Albert Hall in London at the age of 14, and playing before 30,000 people at the opening of the Vienna Festival in May 2005. She has participated in writing the music for many films, including 2 in Hollywood, “Spanglish” and “The Road to El Dorado”, and has written the music for a puppet show in NYC, "Feathers from the Sky". She has just released her first solo album, "Key to the Classics", with the incredible producer Bojan Dugic.

“The inspiration for this album literally came from a vision in the middle of the night,” Daisy says, “It brings together my 30 years of musical experience. Although my roots are in classical music, I have been drawn to and blessed by many musical influences around the world over the years, from folk and other traditional music to the latest trends in hip-hop and reggae."

brilliantly played
I really love your CD. So brilliantly played, great sounding violin(s) and cool beats. Beautiful tracks, and a great variety. One of the pieces, Asturias by Albeniz, is also a famous guitar piece, although originally a piano work. I can see a challenge when using 3/4 together with an accompaniment based on 4/4. But it also creates some lovely, yet (for me, a biased guitarist) unusual syncopations.

Incredible Spirit & Energy
Daisy’s work can’t help but to evolve...It is her nature. She works to challenge and stretch her abilities in her sound...and with the instrument itself. Daisy is fearless in her reaching out to develop, share and inspire others through performance of her music. I know Daisy as an individual of gratitude, as well...She doesn’t take anything for granted. What you hear and feel in this album is the energy and skill of a young woman who is passionate about what she does. There is a sense of playfulness as she crosses boundaries of traditional classical music coupled with a serenity and peace..the seeming effortless flow of music. The depth of spirit that Daisy placed into making this album is carried well throughout its content. She can transport you to another place.

Key to the Classics
Brilliant violin playing; amazing energy and superb arrangements.

This “secret weapon” is no longer a secret, Daisy Jopling, that is. Daisy’s album pulsates. Her style unlocks and grounds classical music, making it concrete and accessible to the everyday listener. A lot of thought went into this album; it’s fun, dynamic, crackles with hi-energy, and it’s sophisticated. Simply put! – WOW! Keys the Classics is…let's just say - incredible!
